Meier is a fabulous player. I like him best when he is the Alpha on his line. When he drives the play he's phenomenal. That's why he looks comfortable playing with guys like Haula and Mercer. Meier needs to have the puck on his stick as much as possible.
I couldn't agree with you more. I feel as though a lot of his criticism comes from the fact that he hasn't stood out when playing alongside Jack, Bratt, and Nico, but I don't think that's where he's his best anyway. He needs to have a similar role to what he had in SJS, as THE guy on his line, for him to have the most success. I really like what Keefe has done of late with putting him on his own line.

I've watched some of Timo's highlights from 2023 with the Sharks and he was a big time beneficiary of a 101 point season by Erik Karlsson.
Yeah, I mean Karlsson was on another level that season. Rightfully won the Norris IMO (despite the defensive deficiencies).
