A trade may be need to be part of it to make the money work. Mercer and a 2nd. Rossi is a 23-year-old, 60-point, top-6 player afterall, so the cost could be high. Keep in mind we could have had him. We drafted Holtz 2 picks before he was chosen. Devs didnt take him because he was preceived as a "smallish" center. Not Fitz' best moment. I am not sure this idea has legs or not, but it is an interesting read. Thanks
I would hope we wouldn't need to go as high as Mercer and a first for him, only because BG has a track record of undervaluing guys that get on his sh!t list (see Kevin Fiala).
I love your idea to offer sheet him, though. Let's hope that gets more common around the league, until someone wants to do it to us. Then it would be classless and a violation of norms.
This is a 23-year-old 60 point player. He had way better stats than Mercer. On a line with Nico/Timo or Jesper/Hughes he would be a 70+ point player. He is really fast, especially for his size. Mercer has been a 30 point player the last 2 years. Yes, he had a 50 point season, but that could be an adoration. 60 point guys, with 70 or 80 point potential cost a lot! Maybe they take Mercer and a 2nd. Trading Mercer gets rid of $4 mil. Scoring is one the Devs biggest holes

Offer-sheeting him is definitely the way forward, methinks.
And yes, you're absolutely right. Offer sheets against us should be against the rules.
If we offer sheeted him, I'd love to see a 3rd line that featured Rossi and Mercer.
Where are they finding the cap space?
I think it's pretty likely that they shed a good bit of cap space, between Ondrej Palat, Erik Haula, and even Dougie Hamilton.
Mercer and a 1st is a massive overpay at face value
Add in you’d be paying +3M on the contract we’re not saving space and have too many holes to fill
