Welcome to Devils' Advocates!

Hello and welcome to Devils’ Advocates, a New Jersey Devils-centric blog written by me, JP Gambatese.

You may know me from my overly in-depth Twitter threads, or my coverage at The Hockey Writers and Dobber Prospects, and that’s the same goal I have for this blog — only a step further. Here, you’ll find coverage of the Devils like no other.

Deep dives on players and their playstyles? Check. Coaching system breakdowns? Check. Trade analysis? Check. Exhaustive prospect rundowns and reports? Check.

Most of all, I want it to be known that this publication will be available entirely for free. My goal with hockey journalism has never been to profit, but to share my opinions and observations with the public in hopes that my readers can gain a new perspective or perhaps further their understanding of the sport. Nothing is as fulfilling to me as the thank yous under my painstakingly long deep dives and breakdowns on social media.

If you feel so inclined to support my work financially, there is an optional paid subscription, but it certainly is not a requirement — every post will be available to read by everybody.

Community Involvement

Beyond what I said above, I want this to be a community where people feel free to share their opinions, whether in agreement, disagreement, or completely off-topic. If you want to suggest a topic, argue with me, share your thoughts on the articles, or tell me how your day has been, feel free to leave a comment below any of my posts. I’ll be sure to respond.
